Paula Roy’s Favourite Foods – season 1, episode 5 recipes

A fast, fresh dinner menu!

When the nice people at Rogers TV Ottawa contacted me this summer about making a cooking show, I had a hard time choosing which of my favourite recipes I wanted to prepare on air. I’ve created hundreds of dishes for my two blogs (see links at the bottom of this post) over the past four years and in a way, they’re all my favourites! Some I selected because they’ve also been super popular, others because I just love preparing them, and this week’s episode features some of both. I love dinners that come together quickly and feature bold, bright flavours. Most nights I choose recipes that take just a few minutes to assemble and are cooked in a short amount of time. I prefer these fast, fresh meals to purchasing prepared foods and with a little bit of planning, they’re easy to pull off. These three recipes just might get your family eating a few things they don’t normally enjoy. Looking for more dinner inspiration or recipes from my show? Here are the recipes for this week (click on the titles to access the recipes):

  1. Would like to make the spiral vegtables but do not have a machine. There are many out there to purchase but how do you know which ones works. Would you have any recomendations? It would be great if stores had them on display that a person could try them. Thank you.

    1. Hi, I have a very inexpensive Microplane brand spiral cutter that I find works really well AND fits in my kitchen drawer so I don’t have to find space to store yet another gadget. It looks like a giant pencil sharpener and is really easy to clean! You should be able to find it at most kitchen supply stores for about $16. Let me know if you do try it out!
